You just never know when

Look at me....I'm on a writing frenzy. It's called "I've had 5 days off and I feel like a rested, normal person again". Amazing what a little holiday can do for you!

A few days ago my mom called up and said "You're never going to believe this story!" She proceeded to tell me how our hairdresser, Nancy, had met a guy nearly half-way around the world. My mom planned a trip for Nancy and her daughter, cruising through the Mediterranean. On this trip, Nancy made eyes with an attractive man, but they never talked. She couldn't figure out who he was on the trip with. It wasn't until they were at the airport, boarding a plane home, that they actually began talking. As it would turn out, the man was from Austin too, and had been traveling with his extended family from San Antonio. He is divorced, and a father to 2 older daughters.

They chatted on their various plane legs, and then reconnected at baggage claim once back in Austin. Nancy's niece was picking them up, and she offered a ride to her new, handsome, man friend. In an even smaller world moment, it turns out that they live in the same part of town. In fact, their work places are literally half a mile from each other. Seriously- they meet on a boat in a totally different country, and live practically in the same neighborhood! How does that happen?

He's already called and they have been out once (possibly twice now). She's taking it in stride, but I can tell she's excited at the prospect of having met an attractive, personable, and successful (he's a surgeon) man. Good for her!!! It just goes to show that when you least expect it, something great can happen!
