The holidays went surprisingly well. For once, my family able to just sit around and enjoy each other's company. No one was really stressed out about much (minus the train wreck that is my sister's husband). In no way am I saying that I wouldn't trade anything to have my grandparent's back, but last Thanksgiving it was a lot of effort to make sure that my grandmother was entertained and out of trouble. For once- we got to completely relax. I think we all really, really, needed that.
I ate too much, sat around a lot, slept long hours and just didn't have anything exciting to blog about- so I spared you the boring details. I had every intention of blogging every day this month, but life got in the way, and that is sometimes more important.
In other news, there is a boy who has quietly (and patiently) been hanging around in the background. I will need to go back through recent posts to see if I have even mentioned him yet, but you might be hearing more soon. It has been a very slow start, but in a way I think that's a good thing. He just got back from 10 days away and it was fun catching up with him last night. Not only did he stay in touch while he was gone, but he also brought me back a present- an Alaskan King Salmon that he is going to cook for me tomorrow night. We are both foodies and I had mentioned to him that I only recently discovered how much I like salmon. He went home to Seattle for Thanksgiving and I guess that popped into his head while he was there. I think it's very sweet and thoughtful, and totally appropriate for the amount of time we have spent together. His initial is D.
There are definitely some things that I need to blog about- and I intend on making my blog public again soon. I'm hoping that a little redesign of the content will still keep you entertained, but also make you feel more proud to know me. More on that later.....
I hope that everyone had a great holiday and that the first day back to work wasn't too painful. Mine is just now ending, but at least I won't hit traffic driving home!
